Safe Haven of Iowa County

 Check out this cutie-pa-tootie "Clark". He was found as a stray in Marengo, and never claimed.  Lucky for him, he has been taken in to Safe Haven's care.  We are guessing he is a mix of likely a Black mouth Cur and Shepherd, and the vet estimated him to be 5 monthls old.
 
Clark is up to date on vaccines, and is de-wormed, microchipped, neutered, and on track for a long healthy life with a new forever family. 

An ideal family will be committed to taking a puppy obedience class right away to get started on the right foot. This young age is a perfect time to commit to continue proper socialization and also all the work that goes into house-training a puppy, which requires a lot of patience and persistence with working on a schedule.  Puppies need to be taken outside frequently - as often as every 4 hours in the beginning.  So an ideal home for Clark will be one where he won't have long periods of time during the day spent alone, so he can have the best chance of successful housetraining and have years of wonderful love and devotion to focus on!
