Remembering Our Beloved Pets: For here, between this world and the next, No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness, Sparky arrived at Safe Haven on June 11, 2009 and passed away on June 28,2009. He tested positive for Heartworm and started treatments. After receiving his second injection, Sparky passed away. His heart was not strong enough to survive the treatments that were meant to save him. Sparky spent his last days loved and care for by his foster family. He is resting peacefully at Rainbow Bridge. Jacob came in a budweiser 12 pack box sitting at the front of our haven door. He was paralyzed in his back kegs and had a swollen belly. He was only with us for 12 hours before rushing him to the ER Vet clinic in Iowa City before he passed away but he touched my heart as he did many of our other volunteers. God bless you Jacob. Raja was with the Safe Haven family for a short time. In that time we were blessed with his kind nature and love. He passed away today, June 4th, 2009 from FIV. He will be missed but is no longer suffering and resting peacefully at Rainbow Bridge. Trudy aka Queen was taken to the vet today, April 27, 2009 and was diagnosed with diabetes, blindness, ear infection and a failing heart. The vet thought she was at least 12 years old and the most humane thing to do was to euthanize her. Trudy was with her foster family for only 4 days but those days were spent being groomed, hand fed, loved, and allowed to smell the fields of Iowa. Her last 4 days were heaven on earth for Trudy and very special for the foster family that gave her comfort on those last days she had with us. Wolverine had fought so hard but lost his battle on April 4, 2009. His life was cut so short but he was loved and cared for the time with us. He will be missed but is no longer struggling. He leaves behind his mom, Luna, and siblings. |
