Meet Jackson - our cute terrier mix!! And if his little scruffy coat isn't enough to win your heart....he has an incredibly cute underbite too! This little fella's undesirable qualities are such a short list we will start there --- he will run the countryside if not fenced in and he does not like to be kenneled.
But, how bad can that be since he is housebroken and is so much fun to be around that the best place for him is in the house with his people. He did not even give us any trouble when we scheduled him for the vet without a few days to acclimate to us. The second day we had him he marched off to wait in the vet's office and play with a larger puppy while waiting. Once on the examining table he was totally cooperative through the needle sticks, pokes and prods (even anal express) and toe nail trim. Those last two are a real test of a little dogs cooperation and he came through it like a trooper.
His former owner tells us that the only reason he is giving the little guy up is that he is not a house dog for them and will leave the farm to go seek adventure. They are afaid he could get hurt out roaming around. Before living with them he was a house dog with the most recent owner's father who went to a nursing home. Often on his adventures he will seek out a residence that has children, so he might be the perfect companion to some youngsters.
