Rosie came to Safe Haven from a very nice family that could no longer care for her due to health reasons. Rosie is a complete sweetheart, and her original family does know that she is 1/2 Golden, 1/2 Pyrenees....however she certainly looks very much just like a Golden...she doesn't have many physical characteristics of the Pyrenees.
The first years of her life have been mostly spent as on outside farm dog, although she does have nice house manners too. When Rosie first came in to Safe Haven she was adopted right away to a wonderful couple that fell deeply in love with her, and even took her to several dog parks for Rosie to enjoy - however they just couldn't provide Rosie with as much outside time as she wanted. This family loved her enough to want the perfect life for her and for her to be happy.
So they did bring Rosie back to Safe Haven and said they felt she needed a little more "elbow room" than they could provide her in their home, as they live in a housing developement. They took Rosie on several walks a day, and still at the end of the day they felt she still just wanted to be back outside - so we are all hoping there may be a more perfect home out there for Rosie. Perhaps it will be a farm home - but we know she does not like cats and has been known to kill racoons too. So Rosie's perfect home needs to understand that, and that she likes to spend a lot of time outside running and playing - however her family felt that Rosie likely will need some sort of fencing to help keep her contained because she did love to run and would not stay around their property. Also, if Rosie is going to be living primarily outside she will need some sort of shelter - somehere to stay warm in the winter and shade in the summer. If this sounds like a home you have to offer for Rosie, please come meet her and be prepared to fall in love!
