Safe Haven of Iowa County

Parker and his buddy, Beanie, came to Safe Haven as their mom had to go to a nursing home.  Parker was the lead in the pair, but then Beanie was much smaller and more shy. Beanie has found her forever home and Parker seems to be just fine with that.   We had wondered how bonded they were but suspected Beanie needed Parker more than Parker needed her.  The family did not ask that they stay together so when Beanie got an opportunity with a family who fell for her at first sight she left her buddy behind.   

Parker is described as loving and seems to have adjusted to the busier atmosphere of a shelter.  He had lived a very quiet, calm life, so he may be anxious around children or a lot of commotion.   However, his quick adjustment to his new life here makes him appear to be pretty flexible.   His latest adjustment is that his friend Beanie found a home and moved out to live with her new family.
Parker has had an incident with a limp a couple of times.   The vet told his family he thought it was an issue with a disc slipping a bit.   Each time he bounced back and seems to be healthy.
