Meet Chica - She is a little cutie-pa-tootie!! But don't tell her she is little....like most Chihuahuas she has no idea that she is the smallest dog at Safe Haven!! Chica came to Safe Haven because her owner could no longer care for her, and they knew we would surely find a perfect new home for Chica. As we have gotten to know Chica better, we have realized, that, like many chihuahuas, sweet though she may be most of the time, she lets you know what she is/isn't in the mood for! She also seems to bond extremely quickly to one person in the home. Chica needs a home with older people that are willing/able to be patient with her and give her time to adjust to them, and working on training her to be on her best behavior. We recommend that Chica be the only pet in a home. While she does have several dog playmates at Safe Haven, once she bonds to a person, she does not care to share them with other pets. She still would likely enjoy play dates with other dog friends. There is a fun video on our Facbook page of Chica and other dogs playing.
