UPDATE 5/16/2015:  Hopper has finished her meds and is doing great.  She does a good job of keeping her kennel clean and is looking forward to finding her forever home.  A review of her file finds that her former family said she will ring a bell at the door when she needs to go outside.  We have the bell, and it will go with her to her new home!

UPDATE 5/3/2015:  Hopper had surgery to remove kidney stones this week and is recovering nicely...back to hopping.  We hope this surgery improves the bladder issues she was experiencing.  We will continue to update her progress.

Hopper was adopted from Safe Haven back in 2013, and now is 3 years old.  Hopper was brought back to Safe Haven because her family was having trouble with housebreaking.  They reported that she has a "very excited bladder" and she pees whenever she gets excited or nervous.  Upon her coming back to Safe Haven we did take her to the vet to rule out any medical issues, and she did have a Bladder infection.  So we are hoping that after the antibiotics, she will feel healthy and be able to better control her bladder, but we do feel the best home for Hopper will be one that can provide her with consistant training to help her with any potential housetraing struggles.  She will likely do best with a family that can commit to treating her like a puppy and not be left unsupervised to wander her new home at first.  They will have the most success if they go outside with Hopper each and  every time she goes out and immediately reward her when she does her business outside.

Hopper's family does report her to be super sweet, smart and a huge cuddler, and for a time she lived with a close friend where she did great until the friend recently got a job and they reported that Hopper began to struggle with housetraining again.  So Hopper came back to Safe Haven where we just know a family is out there that can commit to work on housetraining wih Hopper and in return they will have many many years of fun and memories with this cutie!
