Description:Meet our first ever international pup - Luka! He is almost 2 years old now, but at 12 weeks he, along with his littermates, was rescued by a lady who was visiting Ukraine. Luka had quite a
trip to America which is evident in his very own passport, including a stopover in Germany to
make sure the litter was healthy. Once the puppies landed in Chicago, they were each adopted into loving homes. But unfortunately his family has gone through some recent major changes, and just can no longer provide the care for Luka that he deserves, and made the heart
wrenching decision to ask Safe Haven to help Luka find a new home. It is so obvious they
have loved him and proveded an excellent home for him, including doggie daycare, weekly tripsto the dog park, and 4 months of private lessons with a professional dog trainer.
Luka's family reports that he is a super smart pooch, who is so eager to please. He loves his
canine friends at the dog park, but is wary of strangers and will bark when nervous in this
situation. He will need a special family that can help him in these situations and let him know he is safe and can relax. He does take a little of time to become comfortable and confident
with new people. He loves treats, and is very food motivated, so of course he does become
your friend much quicker if you have a treat to offer! Luka also loves cats, and has a fun
playful side. He is completely housebroken. Luka does prefer to be around his family
whenever possible, and will bark when left alone, so apartment life would not be the best fit forLuka.
