"We got Gracie 3 years ago in May from a family in Northern Iowa.  They had originally adopted her from a shelter (we have that information in her packet). They were trying to find her a home as they did not have time for her. They had her voice box clipped three times as all she did was bark. (She was an outside kennel dog). We agreed to take her for the weekend and see how she did.  She was really good loved being able to run on the farm and was instantly a loyal companion to us. We took her to Spot & Co for obedience training and she did a remarkable job.

We were all doing very well, but Gracie does not like to be bothered when sleeping or with a bone. She needs to approach you.  Unfortunately she did nip a friend of mine’s child when the child tried to give Gracie a hug while Gracie was sleeping.  We did what we thought was the right thing to do and called our insurance. I would have never turned it in. but since the nip did injury her eye, I wanted to be more safe than sorry.  The little girl is fine, but unfortunately our insurance is now giving us until March 10th to find her a new home, or they will cancel our insurance.

Gracie is not by any means an aggressive dog. She is very sweet and gentle and just loves attention. She needs a home with a family (preferably without small children whose behavior can be so unpredictable) who can give her a lot of attention, and has a big yard to run in. She is housebroken and is inside at night or when we are at home otherwise she is outside most of the time. I have vet records for her and all of her belongings I will send with. This is a heartbreaking for me and my boys to have to do this and we only want her to have the best possible life ever"
