Description:
Ethel, a dachshund/basset mix, was removed from her abusers. We named her Ethel as she came with Fred, a basset (see other photos on this website). She had no personality because, we suspect, she simply didn't feel well!!! She plays with the rest of the gang here, all bassets, wanting and receiving affection, developing a personality which is totally charming. Ethel had the worst case of kennel cough I'd ever seen, is over that and is presently heartworm positive,but another treatment we hope will take care of that (vet says her heart is fine)! She tries to howl with the other bassets but has this dainty little voice which makes us want to love and laugh with her even more. Ethel is the kind of dog that you want to 'give the world' to because she has been abused. (There are scars on chest from the harness that must've been put and left on her). When we first got her we practically cried every time we looked at her because she we couldn't imagine anythng horriffic happening to such a dainty little lady. She will win your hearts indeed!
