Hi, my name is Whoopi. (The nice people at Safe Haven gave me that name). Here is my story. My two buddies, Wade and Weston, and I were dumped at a rest stop along I-80. We really didn't know what we were going to do being left alone like that.
But some nice people picked us up and eventually we came to stay at Safe Haven. Wade was adopted right away, but Weston and I are still looking for our forever homes. We're both working on walking on a leash, on not jumping up, and on the sit command. We'll keep working hard on these things every day until some lucky people (maybe you) come to take us to our forever homes.
Whoopi loves her brother and seems to enjoy other friendly dogs as well.
Cat test: We take the dogs into one of the cat rooms for the cat test, and Whoopi seemed indifferent to all the kitties in the room.
UPDATE 8/4/14 Poor Whoopi had a surgery today to repair her left rear knee, she had a "luxating patella". She will need about 6-8 weeks of limited activity to recover. She is still available for adoption during this time period. She should not be terribly hard to care for, she just needs to have short leashed walks and no racing around/roughhousing.
