Safe Haven of Iowa County

Ernie is a friendly little fellow who will calm down and play and walk on leash with children if he is taken to the lobby away from all the barking in the kennel area.   He will sit on command and likes those treats for doing so.   He was brought to us through a city pound when his people were not responding to requests for payment of fines and bringing him up to date on his rabies vaccination.    He copes well with the shelter atmosphere, which cannot be said of all dogs --- just an adaptable little fellow who is ready to be loved.

He does not poop in his kennel, but sometimes cannot wait for the next volunteer to arrive and may shoot some pee over to his neighbors area.   He knows he wants to keep his area clean and with a little work in a home regarding scheduling he will figure out the pee preferences.
