We hope you will consider taking this journey with Dylan.
Description:

Dylan came in a shaggy, burr filled, scared mess. We don't know how long the little guy had been wandering around the countryside on his own and what kind of treatment he had before he was adandoned and came to us through the Iowa County pound.  Certainly all of his past experiences have shaped his self-protecting personality.

He is very sweet, social, and playful! with some of the volunteers, but he does require patience and doesn't seem comfortable with any sort of fast activity around him. He does get nippy when scared, such as at the vet office or if someone tries to force contact with him before he is ready. For these reasons we'd recommend him for a family with no children.  He has had some doggy playmates but is very selective, so we recommend a family with no other dogs. He seems to want to play with the cats he has met, and responds well to boundary guidance.  Dylan prefers the company of females over males, so it would be beneficial if male family members would be receptive to gaining his trust over time.  He has responded positively to one of our male volunteers, who has taken the time to work with him.
