Belle is a beautiful, medium-sized, tri-color dog with a striking black mask around her expressive brown eyes, a white muzzle, and alert, black-tipped ears. She’s active, playful, alert, and intelligent, with some of the behaviors of a herding breed: this is a dog who really tunes in to the person who’s with her, as if waiting for your next command. Belle is very friendly with people and also gets along very well with other dogs. She’s quick to learn and eager to please. She’s responded very quickly to basic obedience commands like “sit.” Belle was picked up as a stray in Marengo, placed in the pound, and never claimed. She’s an excellent dog who deserves a good permanent home. Belle is scheduled for spay, heartworm test, and vaccinations the week of June 16 and will be ready for adoption soon thereafter. With her medium size, well-rounded personality, and natural intelligence, Belle is a very versatile dog who would make a wonderful pet and companion for nearly any kind of household. “Belle” is French for “beautiful”—come meet Belle and you’ll see why this name fits her perfectly!
