Other Pictures of Carrie (click to see larger version):Carrie is one of the sweetest dogs we have met - she is just one happy girl. She was found wandering around the countryside, and ended up in the local pound where we first met and fell in love with her! Carrie does have on old leg injury to her front left leg, our vet x-rayed it and said it had been broken and the fracture was left to heal on it's own. This was likely very painful for sweet Carrie, but she has certainly not let it slow her down. She runs around and wants to play with her new dog friends at Safe Haven! The injury had caused her leg to be thicker at the site of the fracture and it does turn inward quite a bit and looks awkward when she walks, but Carrie as adapted and is just so happy to be safe and sound now. Our vet said it may be possible for a surgical vet to try and reset the leg and help it to reheal in a more natural position, but that would be up to her adoptive family to decide if they feel it is necessary for Carrie. He also recommended that Carrie's adoptive family be very conscience of her weight and try to keep her at a healthy weight, as carrying any extra weight around on her leg would not be good for her down the road - but other than that he felt Carrie can go on to live a good, long life! At this point the vet said she is one happy, healthy dog that he too was impressed with how incredibly sweet of a disposition she has! Carrie is quite young yet - definitely under a year old, so she has some growing to do yet, and is just full of life and ready to settle into a forever home. We have just fallen in love with our sweet Carrie and think you will too, so please let us know if you would like to meet Carrie!
