Safe Haven of Iowa County

Melinda came to Safe Haven with 4 other Shih Tzu's from a breeder that is retiring.  They contacted Safe Haven and asked for help trying to find good homes for their 5 registered Shih Tzu's, as they were no longer able to provide the amount of care the dogs require. Melinda spent a couple hours at the groomer and now looks like a totally different dog, as you can see from her before picture.

Melinda is a 14 year old female that seems to enjoy life yet and has a lot to offer someone that may be looking for a senior dog.  She was a very good girl at the groomer and seems to be feeling great! If you are looking for a cute small dog that is pretty laid back at this point in her life, then Melinda may be the perfect dog for you! 

Please note, Melinda has not lived in a home but rather in a kennel facility in a large pen where she always had outdoor access. In this set-up she does do her business outside, which may lend to her being easily potty trained within a home.
