Other Pictures of Zoey (click to see larger version):Zoey is a mature black lab (about 7-10 age range- whiting on the muzzle) that was brought into our local vet in early May with injuries that looked like she was thrown from a car. She had a collasped lung, sprain foot, road rash, gashes around her eye and looked like she was starved to death as well. At first the vet didn't know if she was going to make it because when she arrived to them she wasnt really moving and was having labored breathing....however as the vet was standing there contemplating Zoey's future, she got up and started walking around! After a couple days Zoey recovered enough to go to her foster home. At first her new foster Mom about started crying...every bone in her body was visible.... she was covered in ticks and was still in pretty bad shape... barely moving/barely eating... they didnt think she was going to make it through that first night. Well now here we are a month later and she is doing so great! Her family had trouble finding a food that Zoey would eat in the beginning, but once they figured out what she liked - she started eating and never looked back. Zoey is still thin, but is slowly putting the weight back on that some cruel person deprived her of. Luckily Zoey made her way to Safe Haven and all those troubles are in her past! Zoey loves to follow her foster family around their home, but is still pretty laid back and enjoys just laying around too. She is a great dog that enjoys everyone that will give her attention. She lives with a couple other dogs in her foster home and enjoys their company, but does not like to share her food. She basically ignores the cats in her foster home, so a forever home with a cat or two would be no problem for Zoey either. If you are looking for a laid back lady that truly deserves a loving forever home, look no further!!
