Special Needs: needs assistance with rehabilitation, often requires a daily bath, special modifications for a litter box, lots of love and patience for one of the worlds most remarkable felines.

Description:
My name is Carmilla. A kind woman found me as a stray on the side of the road. I am handicapped because I can’t stand on my back legs. I don’t know what happened and neither do my doctors. The people at Safe Haven took me in and found me a wonderful foster home because I was pregnant. On Sat. Sept 29th, they rushed me to the emergency clinic because I couldn’t have my babies on my own. My first kitten was breach. But the wonderful people at Bright Eyes & Bushy Tails took great care of me and helped deliver my 6 kittens via a C-section.

My youngest son passed away 24 hours after I delivered. My 2nd kitten died at 5 weeks of age. They did their best to save them and I know that. I am so glad that my other kittens are doing well.

I love my foster home with Mama Lydia because she takes such good care of me and helps me with physical therapy and ALWAYS makes sure I have everything I need. She and my friends at Safe Haven gave me a chance at life. I am now starting to move my back legs and with time and TLC the doctors think I will get some use back.

At a recent vet apt I moved my tail and they said I may be regrowing some of the damaged nerves so there is still hope that I may get some use of my legs.

I can't get into the litter box and don't have full control of my bladder and bowels yet but it's getting better.

I need a patient family who has a love for disabled cats needing special attention.

I LOVE being touched and held. As soon as my 4 kittens are old enough I will be ready for adoption. Christmas would be a great time to find a forever loving home.
