Safe Haven of Iowa County

Festus is ready for his forever home! This fella came to us as a local stray after finding himself lost outside of North English. After coming into the Iowa County pound with hopes of finding his owner and returning home, we are surprised that he was never reclaimed. Festus has found himself a warm place to call home until his new forever home is found!

Festus seems to love everyone he meets and enjoys the attention of the many volunteers he sees on a daily basis. He is working on his leash walking skills and continuing to work on manners, but we know it won't take him long - as he appears to be a very smart, and driven boy! He has already mastered the "sit" command, but we feel it would be best if his adoptive family had time to commit to an obedience class to help build a strong connection and help guide him with learning how to properly meet new friends and enjoy a loose leash walk, etc. As we get to know Festus more, we will be introducing him to other dogs and cats to see what type of home will best suit him. 

Festus has been brought up-to-date on his vaccinations, has been microchipped, neutered, and started on his monthly flea/tick & heartworm preventatives... this means he is officially ready to find a home of his own!

This application can be found on our website, www.wesavepets.com. Once the application has been submitted, a Safe Haven volunteer will be in contact to set up a meeting time. If you have another dog(s) in your home currently, a meet & greet appointment time would be required for the dog(s) to meet Festus.
