Meet Baloo! This big loveable fella came to us as a stray, and was later surrendered over to our care. His previos owners felt as though Baloo would benefit from room to run safely, and they didn't feel as though they could provide that for Baloo. We are very lucky to have received Baloo into our care, as he tested positive for Heartworm Disease as soon as his blood was tested. Treatment for Heartworm Disease was a must for this young guy. 

We are pleased to say that Baloo has gone through the appropriate Heartworm treatment, including three spinal injections, medications, activity restrictions, and continued monthly Heartworm preventatives over the last few months. Baloo has been a great "patient" through this whole process. Throughout the last several months, Baloo has been very patient and willing to accept the restrictions of the treatment.

During his time at Safe Haven, Baloo went for walks with his neighboring canine friend (who was also being treated for Heartworm Disease) and they always got along well. They seemed to keep one another company while in isolation due to activity restrictions. Baloo has been "cat tested" while at Safe Haven. He was very curious about cats, and was willing to bark/howl at them. Proper introductions with any felines would be an important step for Baloo's forever home. Baloo is ready to begin his search for his forever home! A home that has the space to accomodate this big boy is a must. He loves to be curious with new surroundings, go for walks, and we think he may even enjoy playing with other alike dogs, etc. Baloo is typically a very friendly and patient boy.
