Meet Banks! This handsome guy came to us as a stray found near Marengo. After never being reclaimed, he has officially become an adoptable Safe Haven dog. Although Banks hasn't been with us long, we have learned a few things about him that we'd like to share!
Banks is a very smart boy. He knows basic commands like sit and shake. He has shown to be very patient and loves human interaction & affection. Although he came to us quite skinny, he has gained almost 10lbs since being in our care and continues to gain the adequate weight that he needs to fill out nicely. Banks does have the typical German Shepherd alerting bark when new faces approach his kennel. He has been easily redirected from this behavior with treats and proper introductions to new people. Since he was a stray, we don't know his history nor past home envioronment. He has not been introduced to other dogs since being in our care, but doesn't seem to mind other dogs in near proximity in the shelter setting. A proper introduction/meet & greet visit with any current dogs in a potential adoptive home would be appropriate.
Banks has been brought up-to-date on his vaccinations, he has been neutered, microchipped, and has begun monthly flea/tick & Heartworm preventatives. With this all on board - Banks is ready to begin his search for his forever home!
