Safe Haven of Iowa County

UPDATE 4/12/23 - We have received a great update from Lady's foster home saying that she has really come out of her shell, and is doing great! The home has other medium sized dogs and a younger lab puppy - who Lady loves to play with! Her foster caretakers say she is a real sweetheart. If you're interested in meeting Lady or potentially adopting this sweetie - please complete an online adoption application found on our website, and a volunteer will be in contact soon. We would love to find her a forever home where she can continue to grow in her confidence and learn to enjoy her many years of life ahead! 

This sweet little gal came to Safe Haven as a stray - after never being reclaimed, she has become part of the Safe Haven family! Lady came in very scared and timid, not so sure about all of the new people and this new big building called "home". Lady is staying in a foster home for about a month. By being cared for in a foster home setting, we have high hopes that she'll be able to work on her trust, social skills, and begin to love the attention that her foster caregivers offer, as well as the affection that Safe Haven volunteers and staff have to offer. She is a very sweet gal once she warms up, but that just comes with extra patience and encouragement. 

Lady has been examined by our veterinarian, spayed, microchipped, brought up-to-date on her vaccinations, given flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, and is officially ready to begin her search for her forever home once she is back from her foster home. We hope to have more updates on this sweetie soon --- we will be sure to share with her progress soon!
