Safe Haven of Iowa County

Nutmeg is a gorgeous, extremely loving, fluffy little girl who has a heart of gold. She was adopted but returned to us due to her being unable to adapt to living with an infant in the household. She was having some behavioral issues (hiding, not using the litter box, etc) that made it clear she simply was not going to become comfortable with this change.

Since her return to Safe Haven she had not exhibited any of the issues her previous family had listed, so we do feel that she is just going to need a more quiet home with young children.  She is an absolute lovebug, more interested in your attention and what you’re doing than anything. She seems like she would be a pretty chill, calm cat in an actual home setting.

Since her original return Nutmeg was adopted into a home without any children and did wonderful settling in, however the adopter had another adult cat in the home that did not like Nutmeg.  After giving it over a month to try and make it work, sadly things were not getting any better and the adopter felt it was best to bring Nutmeg back to the shelter because she realized her first cat really wants to be an only cat.  So Nutmeg is back at the shelter, doing well with her new feline roommate, and is settling in nicely ......now she just needs a forever home to welcome her with open arms!  In return that family will be getting an absolutely gorgeous and sweet cat!
