Safe Haven of Iowa County

Esmeralda is a perfect example of a previously 'unowned' community cat whose life will get better now that she has been brought to Safe Haven.   She was a member of a group of kitties that were being fed and did have a building they could hunker down in.   However, when she had an injury to her tail--to the point that the skin and fur was completely pulled off  several inches of tail -- she had no one willing to accept the responsibility financially for getting her the anitbiotics and other attention the wound required.  

After coming to SH she took a little time to get her bearings, but is now happily adjusted. Gets along well with her roommates and is quick to seek attention from visitors.  Loves to have her head and lower back scratched, and will even offer up an occasional purr.  She is still a bit startled by noises, and may do well in a quieter home. We just know Esmeralda and her adorable little tail nubbin' deserves to have a very special forever home!    Check out that cute little nubbin tail in the addtional pictures below (on our website if you are viewing on one of the rescue networks)
