Safe Haven of Iowa County

Update 12/14/2022 - Lydia now "Libbie" has been returned due to serious health conditions of her previous owner. It was a very tough decision for her family to make, as they loved her dearly. She is still a very active young girl, looking for a home to call her own. Since her arrival back at Safe Haven, she has been very nervous, understandably as she continues to go through many tough changes in her life. Her previous family mentioned that she has had a couple of seizures in the recent past, we are continuing to monitor her for any seizure-like activity also keeping in mind some seizures can be stress-induced. We will continue to update her profile and Facebook postings about Libbie as we continue to learn more about her. Previous History - Lydia is a high energy, intelligent and social butterfly of a puppy who craves a person or family to work her body and mind. Not to mention she's drop dead gorgeous! Lydia is a medium haired German Shepherd who will require some grooming. She needs to learn foundational skills and obedience in order to become her best self. Hiking, dog sports, and adventures are all up her alley.

She likely would do okay with dogs who match her energy after a proper introduction, but has shown to be reactive on a leash (typical barking shepherd). This can be worked through with positive reinforcement. 

Lydia was found as a stray and we have no idea how! Can you provide her a forever home?
