Yoshi (formerly known as Salem) was recently returned to us after being adopted in 2020. Yoshi's previous family reported that he has severe seperation anxiety and resorted to some destructive behaviors because of it. The family was working/going to school from home during covid but recently started leaving the house more often, triggering Yoshi's sudden onset of anxiety. 

Yoshi has been started on an anti-anxiety medication here at the shelter. We are working with him to normalize entering/leaving his kennel and trying to help him gain more independence. Right now he seeks out human attention and closeness as sort of his security blanket. He needs someone who can continue working with him so he gets used to being alone at times. Training, along with medication, plenty of mental and physical stimulation, a positive association with a kennel, and a stable routine should go a long way to help Yoshi be the best dog he can be--but he needs that dedication and commitment!

Aside from his anxiety, this guy is close to perfection. Yoshi is incredibly handsome, walks perfectly on a leash, and was great with the kids and cat in his previous home. He seems neutral to dogs here at the shelter and may enjoy a friend.
