Safe Haven of Iowa County

Gus is a seven year old Labrador Retriever - and he is such a sweetie, that we know he won't be with us long!  A family recently reached out to Safe Haven and asked us to help them find a better home for Gus.  They had just taken Gus in from a friend in April that was moving and couldn't keep Gus.  This family was told that Gus was originally trained to be a hunting dog - but they were hopeful they could safely keep him on their acreage without his hunting skills becoming an issue...but unfortunately he killed several chickens, and has proven he needs a home where there are no small animals -including no cats :(

So now that we covered some of the things his new home should NOT have - let's talk about what he does love, and all the great things about Gus!  He LOVES to play catch, he LOVES to go on walks, and he LOVES to play with kids!  The family that surrendered Gus had 3 kids and they reported that Gus was a wonderful companion for every member of their family.
