Rio was surrendered  to Safe Haven because things just didn't work out with his first family - they reached out to Safe Haven to let us know they could no longer care for him, and they knew we would do our best to find his forever family.

Rio is almost 7 months old, but he is well behaved for a large puppy and brings a smile to everyone he meets!  He loves going on walks, chewing on bones and squeaky toys - and enjoys taking a nap under a light blanket! :)  Rio is a pretty solid fella, and he seems to have a bunch of extra skin (especially around his neck area!) that he may grow into yet - we honestly aren't sure exactly what his actual breed mix is.....except that it is 100% cuteness.

Rio is fine with being kenneled, but he would likely love to sleep in your bed with you too!  He has been well-socialized with other dogs, but has never been around cats.  We tried to cat test him at Safe Haven, and he was fine with a kitty that didn't run from him......but he was a little "over-interested" in a cat that decided to run from him -  so a home without cats or other small pets may be a good idea.  His overall personality is just full of joyful goofiness!  He is still a puppy, so getting enrolled in some sort of puppy or general odedience class is a perfect way to kick off your relationship with Rio.
