Molly is a senior Boxer who is now looking for her retirement home, after living with a gentleman who was no longer able to care for her adequately. He loved Molly enough to reach out to Safe Haven and ask us to find her a new home that is able to meet all her needs. Molly is very people friendly and wants to be with a human companion to relax. She also enjoys a canine playmate at the shelter, and while playing she certainly does not show her age! Over the years Molly has developed several lumps and bumps that are common for Boxers as they age, but unfortunately she also developed a pretty rare medical condition (Diabetes Insipidus) that was left untreated and caused her to have excessive thirst and urination. We encourage anyone interested in Molly to please research 'Diabetes Insipidus' and even speak to their veterinarian to learn more. The good news that Molly's condition is now easily controlled with medication (Desmopressin) that is administered by eyedrops twice a day. Molly is very cooperative with her caregiver when receiving her medication because, after all, that is more attention! We recognize this medication may be considered expensive by many potential familes, and because we don't want this to deter her adoption - Safe Haven is willing to work with the right adopter regarding the cost of the medication through our 'Save Our Seniors' fund if necessary. Getting Molly into her new forever home is our goal, and we look forward to working with her adopters to ensure all her needs can finally be met.
