Safe Haven of Iowa County

Gilbert recently found himself a stray at the Marengo City Pound - and when his owner was found, he decided he could no longer take suffucient care of him, Safe Haven was contacted to see if we had room to take Gilbert in.  Our volunteers quickly said yes, so Gilbert became a Safe Haven dog and is now neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, HeartWorm tested, de-wormed, and ready to move on to his new forever home.  Gilbert's previous owner let us know one of his parents was a Boxer, and the other was a Shepherd/Husky mix - there is a picture of his parents posted down below.  He also told us one of Gilbert's favorite things to do is chewing on bones :) 

We think Gilbert is a great looking pup, who is very social and loves everyone he meets! Since he is only 6 months old, his family will likely need to have some patience to work on a routine for housetraining - but he has a good start on that already.  Gilbert has so much potential and we just know he will make a great companion for some lucky family.
