This gorgeous Redtick Coonhound (mix??) somehow ended up a stray roaming the countryside in Indiana and was picked up by animal control. After no one claimed him, the people that had been caring for him all loved his sweet personality and were determined to save his life and find a no-kill shelter to take him. Luckily Safe Haven had room and was able to commit to saving him! Several volunteer drivers helped transport Kaiser from Indiana to Iowa. Since that trip to Iowa in early fall Kaiser was at our building for a few days before being adopted. Then, unfortunately the family who had adopted him have gone their separate ways and neither of them were living where they could keep Kaiser.....he is after all a pretty big boy.
Kaiser is estimated to be one-two years old, and could not be any sweeter. So far he seems to like other dogs, did fine in our kitty rooms, and loves his car rides - so if you're looking for a travel buddy, Kaiser may be just the perfect match. We think he will be such a great dog for anyone looking for some canine companionship! He loves everyone he meets, and knows a few basic obedience commands, ia generally pretty mild mannered, but may accidentally knock over toddler aged kiddos with his exuberance, so a home with older kids may be the best match to keep up with him since he is pretty young himself and learning how to properly "contain" his excitement :)
