Safe Haven of Iowa County

Peaches came to us as a dog picked up by the Sheriff's Deputy when it was running at large.    She had not been groomed at all and  was a severely matted dog who must have been having a lot of pain from the pulling caused by the thick mats.   Anyone considering adopting her needs to realize that she will require frequent professional grooming and owner brushing/combing to prevent the painful mats because of the texture of her coat.
She is a wonderfully happy and loving little dog in spite of her condition when she was found.   She is one of the few dogs we are confident in saying  is good with children.   We don't know how she does with other dogs or with cats.  She has found car rides a little frightening.
Because her spay surgery was very recent she will not be ready to go to her new home until mid week the first week of July.
