Description:
Diego came to Safe Haven from a hoarding situation in Northern Indiana. The rescue group helping with the situation was at capacity and needing help in placing Diego at a time when we had room to take additional small dogs. He arrived by a small plane piloted by a Pilots N Paws volunteer on 5/17/19. Since that time we have been getting to know Diego and watching him change as he adjusted to the attention he was getting from our volunteers. He was so very shy when he first arrived but has been warming to people that he is familiar with. He can still be quite shy on first meeting someone. In describing the breed the AKC website says "The Xoloitzcuintli (show-low-eats-queen-tlee) comes in three sizes: toy, miniature, and standard, and two varieties: hairless and coated. The hairless has tough, smooth, close-fitting skin. The coated variety is covered by a short, flat coat." Interested in adopting Diego?
