Safe Haven of Iowa County

Zouri was abandoned in an apartment when a tenant moved out.   She was very thin when she was discovered and brought into her rescuer's home.   While she was very loved by the human residents, the three dogs who were there prior to her, found her energy and amount of attention she received very annoying.   She was relinquished to us out of love with the knowledge that neither she nor the three other dogs in the home were happy with her being there.  Her energy and playfulness were not appreciated by the other dogs who their 'mom'  spoke of as being lazy.

So Zouri would like to find a home where she could be playful and active and where the residents would understand if she is slow to warm to some men.    She was recently taken in to visit in one of our cat havens to see what her reaction to cats would be.    Based on her reaction there she must find them pretty boring, but that is not to say she might want to try to herd one or two once in a while since she appears to be a herding breed.
