Mork is a shy fellow who is easily dominated by his sibling, Mindy.  We are guessing that maybe she assumed the leadership role in their previous life making him dependent on her.  We know that Mindy and Mork were literally strays for the entire summer this past year.  Even though some of the residents of the small town they came from knew who the mother of the siblings was and knew the farm where they had lived, the sale of the home had left the dogs entirely on their own.  Apparently the longer they roamed without anyone caring for them the more shy they became.
Finally, they were live trapped and taken to a foster home in the Mediapolis area.   Safe Haven was contacted and we agreed to take them to look for a new home for them.   Mork remains much more shy than his sister but we are hoping finding a home for him without her dominating him will help him gain confidence.  Mindy has come around from her shy demeanor and is now a little pushy toward Mork and lets him know that she gets first opportunity for either food or affection.  He remains reluctant to argue with her even though he will come toward people petting her and clearly want that same attention.
Their fur is very coarse and curly, which is the reason we are assuming there may be some Welsh Terrier in their blood lines.....maybe it's an Airedale ancestor?
