Safe Haven of Iowa County

Donut, Biscuit, Sasha, Velvet and Silk are Zazzy's kittens, born on Sept 1, 2018.   They were in foster care with two kittens who arrived separately.   Those were Millie, who was rescued from inside a piece of farm equipment outside a bar in Keswick, also born on Sept 1, we estimate.  Cookie was their other adopted sister.   She is a couple of weeks older with an estimated birthday of August 13.  Cookie arrived with an infected injury to her backside.

We do not do a lot of 'foster' placement of either cats or dogs.   However, in the case of kittens having a lot of human contact just as they are old enough to leave their mother makes a world of difference in how social the kittens grow up to be.    We are very fortunate to have a willing foster who will take them for a couple of weeks and teach them that people can be a really beneficial factor in their lives and they in return are more loving.
