Description:
Tillie had the misfortune of being in a high-kill municipal pound in the Carthage IL area until a volunteer recognized her potential and what a great pet she will make for a lucky family. That volunteer transported her to Iowa, along with several other dogs going to other rescues. As soon as Tillie arrived in our shelter she has been stealing hearts of the various volunteers coming in on each succeeding day. She has a great temperament when she is outside on her walks and is a really popular size. However we are thinking that Tillie may need to be the only dog in her new home, as she is often reactive to new dogs when introduced, making it difficult for her to make new dog friends. 10/10/2018 UPDATE - After settling in to her new life at Safe Haven we have recently noticied that Tillie is more willing to be cordial to a few other dogs - and with supervision she has now been able to play with her new dog friend Nova :) So perhaps with proper introductions to a mellow, submissive dog - she may be able to live with another canine friend. She is a very unique looking dog, and we can't quite figure out what she is a mix of - but one thing for sure those ears and that one blue eye is pretty distinctive! Interested in adopting this pet?
