Description:
Little Sammy came to us because a lady fell for him, bought him from the family who had the parents, and then learned that other residents of her home did not want a dog in the house. She brought him to Safe Haven for us to find a new home for him.
He can be a little shy at first and has seemed to be a little afraid of children--but that incident was later in the day after he had his neuter surgery, so he might have just not been feeling very friendly and sociable. He has warmed up to adults he sees repeatedly and seems to be a friendly and playful little fellow to most just as you would expect of a pup his age. It is our understanding that he did come from a home with numerous dogs.
We cannot say how he is with cats, but if you apply for him and are approved we will certainly make arrangements for you to witness his reaction to cats at our building if you want. It is important that you, as his future 'parent', see that reaction and interpret it rather than us giving the impression we know how he will react to a cat in your home.
