Meet Penny the Pointer! She is a favorite among many volunteers for her gentle demeanor and her manners on leash - she is a total sweetheart! She obviously is a German Shorthair Pointer and even "points" while out on walks, so she rightfully earned her name "Penny the Pointer"! Incredibly Penny came in to Safe Haven as a stray through the Iowa County Pound - and her family never claimed her. She has been at Safe Haven for over a week now, so she has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, de-wormed, and is now ready for a new forever family! Penny seems to like other dogs, but hasn't been cat tested yet. She has great manners while in her kennel and just loves to relax on her bed and wait for her turn to go outside. She knows general dog commands very well and seems to be house-trained as she keeps her kennel clean, neat and tidy! The vet estimates her to be around 3 years, so her crazy puppy years are behind her and some lucky family will have years to love and be loved by Penny!
