Pictured below  Tommy is shown with his buddy, Gracie, who has now found her forever home.  Tommy and Gracie are FIV positive.  So they could live together, or in a home where each would be the only kitty.   Tommy now lives with Oliver and Neptune Jax.    He enjoys living with two other FIV positive boys and they often wrestle and play together like little Sumo wrestlers.   They love food, sunny windows and petting. 

FIV or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is a virus that, like HIV in humans, attacks a cat's immune system. It is transmitted by a bite from an infected cat or from mother to kitten before birth. There is no vaccination for this virus.

So that's the bad news. The good news is that a cat with FIV can have many years, even a full lifetime, before FIV becomes an issue. These cats look like normal cats because, in most ways, they really are.
