Dexter is one of Cora's pups so we know mama was a coonhound. However, she came to us as a mother-to-be so we don't know what breed dad was. In looking at Dexter he might look like part boxer. Dexter was known as Ruffles when he was a puppy with our foster home because he had so much skin to grow into that he looked 'ruffled'. He did grow into that skin and he is a nice big healthy boy. He was adopted but the circumstances have changed at his adopters home and he was no longer welcome through no fault of his own. He just no longer fit in the lifestyle. I got the impression from the former owner that it was not an easy decision to give him up. I am not surprised because one of his personality traits that person shared with us is that he is a cuddly lap dog.
Since he was one of ours originally we want to help find him a new home where he does fit. He does let people know he is there and is not a quiet dog that would fit in well where the neighbors are too close and sensitive to barking.
