Description:

Duke came to us when his people moved to a new rental home that would not allow dogs inside.   As a small breed dog with a short snout, he was not a good candidate for living outside in either extremely hot or extremely cold weather.   Not only is the weather an issue, but outside when "his people" are inside is just not what he wanted out of life.

He is a serious snuggler and seeker of human attention --- not so much other dogs.   He does okay with other dogs --but just does not seem terribly interested in them.   However, give him a chance with a person he knows and he will walk over, probably put his front feet on your leg, look up as if to say "Here is your prince, now pet me and threat me the way a prince should be treated and appreciated."  He is such an agreeable and fun little guy he should be the little prince in a house with a lot of doggy love to lavish on him.

I cannot imagine him not fitting in with about any family that wants to have a snuggler.  He offers the advantage of being a nice portable size AND with his short hair he does not require the grooming that the little long hair dogs do.   A bit of extra attention to the folds in his face every now and then and toe nail trims and he is good to go.......and go, and go, and go....even if he has to go around in little circles to keep moving.
