Safe Haven of Iowa County

Aspen is brand new at Safe Haven - arriving on July 18th after a LONG day of traveling!  She was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Oklahoma by a transport team that was pulling her out of that shelter and bringing her to Iowa.  They called Safe Haven last second, and sincerly needed our help to save her life!  

We are loving this stage where we are getting to know her, but so far she really seems to be a great pup!  Her paperwork from the vet in Oklahoma lists her as 10 months old and a Husky mix - which is obviously just a guess!  The shelter in Oklahoma had also guessed she is an Aussie (Australian Shepherd) mix, while others wonder if she may have some Border Collie in her too?  This game of "guess the breed" is such a fun game, but one thing we are certain of is that Aspen is a great, young dog looking for her own forever home!
