Description:
Nazli (lovingly nicknamed Noz or Nozzie) is not up for adoption through Safe Haven, rather she is a Courtesy Listing on this website - please email her owner Patsy directly at: patricia-wheeler@uiowa.edu for more information if you are interested in giving her a new home.
Nazli is a 2 year old St. Bernard/Heeler Mix that weighs approximately 70 pounds. Check out her sweet face - those eyes seem to want to tell you a wonderful story of how she came to be such a great dog! She has a very unique background - she was rescued as a stray dog from the country of Turkey and her owner adopted her in November 2015 through a rescue organization that handled this special adoption! Nazli has been happily living with her owner near the Amana Colonies , along with a couple canine buddies- a younger male Bernese Mountain Dog and a mature male Beagle mix. Nazli is a smart dog with a wonderful disposition, and she seems to love everyone she meets.
Unfortunately she has developed aggression towards another older dog also living with her....this is a small older terrier mix - and because of this aggression her owner has made the very difficult decision to rehome Nazli.
Her owner will be doing a home visit with any interested person to make sure Nazli will be finding a new home that will suit her well. Nazli's current home has a doggie door and fenced in yard that she is very happy using, and she truly enjoys spending time safely in her fenced in yard - so it seems only natural that her next home should also have a fenced in yard for her to enjoy too. She may or may not get along with other dogs....this seems to be up to Nazli at this point. If her new home has another dog, a meet and greet for the 2 dogs is a requirement before taking her home. Nazli has never shown aggression towards people - not with food, toys, nail trimming, ear cleaning, etc. She is a very sweet and healthy dog.
So if you are interested in possibly giving this unique "International Wonder Dog" Nazli, the new home she needs, please contact Patsy!
