Left without proper medical care this gentle spirit is blind in his left eye from an untreated cataract and has partial hearing from years of untreated ear infections. He had total ear ablation surgery early May at Ames to remove his infected and scar tissue filled left ear. He is not deaf in that ear but healing very nicely.
He will never let you know though! He is full of life and spirit and wants nothing more than to become someones cherished pet.
He enjoys his pet porter and sleeps through the night. Loves older kids, adults, cats, and other dogs. Very laid back and low key he will make any family a lucky family. But he needs a home with older children. His hearing and eye sight defecits require older children who understand that he can't see and hear as well as other dogs. So please apply only if you have children above the age of 7.
He is a dominant dog so needs to be in a home with a submissive dog.
He has scar tissue in his remaining good ear so future ear infections are probable and will need close monitoring to prevent another ablation surgery which will leave him deaf.
