Frederick and his seven littermates came to Safe Haven after a local farmer reached out to us asking for help as he had not planned on having this litter of puppies. The mother of these cuties was a corgi/terrier mix and the father was a heeler/border collie mix. To begin training as soon as possible for these guys, a spay/neuter contract will be signed at the time of adoption. The contract will be signed stating the puppy must be spayed/neutered by the end of the year (12/31/22) either by scheduling an appointment to bring the puppy back to Safe Haven for the spay/neuter or by utilizing the adopter's primary vet clinic and sending documentation proof of spay/neuter to us at Safe Haven. The adoption fee will be the same ($250) which ever way the adopter chooses to have the surgery completed. All of these puppies are vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and are on track for a long healthy life with their forever families.
Their ideal family will be committed to taking a puppy obedience class right away to get started on the right foot - they will need a family that can commit to continue proper socialization and also all the work that goes into house-training a puppy, which requires a lot of patience and persistence with working on a schedule. Puppies need to be taken outside frequently - as often as every 4 hours in the beginning. So an ideal home for these puppies will be one where they won't have long periods of time during the day spent alone, so they can have the best chance of successful housetraining and have years of wonderful love and devotion to focus on!
If you are interested in adopting Frederick or one of his littermates please fill out an adoption application as the first step of the adoption process. Once the application has been approved, a volunteer will be in contact to set up a meeting/adoption time.
