Do you love large goofy dogs? Merrick might just be the girl for you! Merrick is thought to be an “American Mastiff”. Merrick is approximately 2 years old. She has lots of fun puppy energy and is a joy to be around. She loves romping in the yard and in her kiddie swimming pool. Merrick is crate trained and is showing potential that she may be housetrained as well.
We are still getting to know Merrick, but we are finding that she does has done well on walks with meeting other dogs, and she has been pretty tolerant of her 2 small foster dog sisters, so she may do fine with living with other dogs. We are continuing to expose Merrick to new situations to see what type of family might be the best fit for her. Merrick may be too interested in cats to live with them, but in time she may do just fine with them. She is very sweet and very playful with humans, but because of her size, will benefit from the patience/firmness/consistency of an experienced dog owner.
She is fine with the other dogs in her foster home, even though one of them is really a pistol to her, and she hasn’t had any problems with other dogs on walks.
She is incredibly cuddly and practically gives hugs when you lay down with her, and she makes a lot of sounds – snores and is snorty. Has good energy but is calm in the house.
